BeeCoop is an implementation co-operative of highly skilled, freelance, web-based knowledge workers.
Our mission is to continuously ask and implement the answers to the question:
How can we all work together in a fair, efficient, and enjoyable way?
As a basic container for this discussion we have established the following principles.
1+1=3.
By working together we are able to produce results greater than the sum of our combined individual effort. Creating opportunities to be co-operative is built into our processes. We move toward deep interdependence as an expression of our strength. Our model encourages specialization as an opportunity for members to contribute skills that they have both a high aptitude for and enjoy. With effective interdependence comes the need for personal accountability. Participation in the co-op is highly dependent on the degree with which this personal accountability is maintained.
Abundance is the absence of scarcity.
Choosing to see abundance is a matter of perspective and impacts every aspect of our approach and process. Members choose the projects they want to work on from the abundant demand for their skills. Choosing to see abundance in the market place allows us to approach other development teams as either potential partners or customers. This breeds an atmosphere of non-competition and fosters co-operation. Built in to our organizational DNA is the mutual understanding that we are free to choose the level and nature of our engagement with the co-operative. Operating from Abundance calls in to focus the need for balance. Our organizational strength is in maintaining a balance between our combined co-operative capabilities and the projects we commit to effectively completing well.
Our whole process is the result of ongoing co-operative scrutiny.
The effectiveness of our operation is totally dependent on customers and co-op members having the opportunity to honestly observe and positively impact our processes. The commitment of the co-op is to maintain an open platform for this discourse and to ensure fairness and equality to all members. With Transparency comes the need for integrity. By operating with the highest standard of personal, professional, and financial integrity, while being sensitive to the personal privacy of members, no aspect of the co-operative need be negotiated in the dark.
